An original painting by Margaret Connell The inspiration for this painting was Margaret’s interest and live if birds .The head of the Sooty owl is a styised interpretation of à Steve Parish photograph and the body’s styalized image of an owls body.The colours were chosen to create how owls blend into their environment and to create a sense of the moonlight in which owls spend their waking hours . The canvas was stretched over à frame and primed with gesso.Quality oils paint was used and when finished the painting was sealed with a light glaze.
