Sparkle & Shine + Diamond & Pearls Diptych by Rosemary Legat – At the beginning, with the feel and flow of water enveloping my senses, I worked simultaneously on Sparkle & Shine along with Diamond & Pearls creating two intuitive style layered bases.  Numerous watery layers brining so much movement to both pieces.

With thoughts of a incoming tide, swirling around my ankles, while i’m on a little rock pool visual treasure hunt (peering into all the nooks and crannies) came to mind.  Fostering these thoughts and my imagination, further layers developed on Diamond & Pearls creating richness and stylised details, bringing visual intrigue to this piece.

I moved on to finish Sparkle & Shine with the same watery movement, feel and sparkle.

The layering of white stylised markings provides the abstract sun sparkle I wanted to bring to both pieces.

I aimed for two intriguing paintings to look cohesive in their colour, design and feel when hung near each other and I believe I created that.

With this light and happy feel duo I did not leave any borders around the paper edges.

Both signed on the front.

Dimensions: Both are 56cm (W) x 76cm (H) = Diptych total dimensions of 112cm (W) x 76cm (H)

As they both require framing to hang, my gallery photos include pictures of how this pair could look framed and hung.
