Influence:

Pelicans are such graceful birds whilst soaring through the air, a sheer delight to watch with their giant wing span and impressive giant bill. When they make an entry onto the water however, its a different story. Living by the Bay, I am witness to many of these large birds and have had, on many occasions witnessed their “not so graceful” landing. Being such a large bird, they do make a splash when descending on to the calm waters of my Bay. As I observe their awkward style, I am in awe of their rapid decrease in speed, there legs and webbed feet sprayed out looking more like their going to put a webbed foot on the car brakes.

This is my tribute to my fave water bird: the Pelican. This particular species of Pelican is called the “Grey White Pelican” also known as the Eastern Pelican, Rosy Pelican or White Pelican.

Specifications:

Quality acrylics/Inks used giving long lasting rich pigmentation/lustre. Designed on acid free environmentally unbleached cotton duck, triple coated with universal primer, heavy duty stretcher bars were used to reduce warping. Protective Matte Varnish applied. Original Art signed by the artist.
