Spring Bee by Rosemary Legat – Acrylic paint, acrylic ink & artist painted tissue paper collage on 300gsm paper.

I created a abstract intuitive layered base with a limited colour palette before creating layers of flowers and foliage in white, leaving space for a little creature.

Once I decided on a bee, I started to create him, building up his botanical world, adding more colour and interest around him.  I continued to build and layer colour until I felt that spring had definitely sprung in front of my eyes.

As Spring Bee requires framing to hang my gallery images include examples of how this bright spring creation could look framed and hung.
