“Spring Symphony”  is an abstracted landscape painted in response to the joyous reverie one feels with the coming of spring.

I really wanted this work to literally dance and sing off the canvas.  Movement and contrast are important elements in my painting

so i’ve employed a lot of mark making with the brush across the sky and landscape to capture this.

Also the voluptuous peony dominates the frame, a perfect embassador for spring and a wonderful symbol for romance, prosperity,

good fortune, honor and compassion.

This work is painted in oils, acrylic and charcoal on deep gallery canvas.
