Still Life with Many Different Types of Flowers by Emma Kelly

This artwork depicts many flowers in a vase.  What makes the painting stand-out is the placement each different type of flower.  Blue geometric flowers are juxtaposed with small white flowers as well as bold brown flowers.  This composition communicates to the onlooker an emotion of joyful abundance.  The background is in various pink and green hues.  The vase is also a playful bright green.  Emma is heavily influenced by Margaret Preston who uses block prints for her work.

This painting is a one-off, original stand-alone painting.  Overall the painting invites the onlooker to look at color and Still Life in a different way with the use of contrast, composition and color.

The painting is square being 59.5cm height x 59.5cm width.  It is on stretched canvas and unframed.
