Strangler Landscape by Carol Forster

Partly inspired by the Moreton Bay Strangler Fig Tree I see on my walks through the rainforest.  On these walks I pick up bits and pieces of twigs, seeds and other items that have fallen to the forest floor. On taking them back to my studio I make latex moulds to use in my landscape pieces. This ceramic wall piece started with a collection of leaves found on the forest floor.  I used these leaves to make a latex mould. Clay slabs are rolled onto this relief surface and then assembled.  After this I add hand moulded seed and texture additions before colouring and glazing.

Strangler Landscape is an original, handbuilt ceramic wall piece.
