The cut out patterns on this form mimic the crisscrossing of the roots of the Strangler Fig. One of my favourite pastimes is to go walking in the rainforest where I am constantly amazed by the grandeur and complexity of pattern formed when the strangler fig takes hold and manages to kill the host tree. The form has been wheelthrown and handcarved before individual additions of the strangler components. It has been finished with a matt green dry glaze.
