Additional Information

Strawberry Moon over the Ocean – Alanah Jarvis – Unintentionally, I finished this painting a few hours before the rise of the Strawberry Moon in Victoria, Australia, also known as a penumbral lunar eclipse. During a strawberry moon eclipse, the Sun, the Earth and the Moon are all almost perfectly aligned so that the Earth blocks some of the Sun’s light from reaching the Moon’s surface and covers all, or most of the Moon with its outer shadow.

The viewer’s perspective gives you a feeling of swimming in the ocean under a full moon, light enough to see the swell on the surface with the light refracting through the water. Floating, the swimmer can watch the skyscape change, watch the moonlight through the clouds creating a turquoise water with pink reflections from the moon, all while being completely safe.
