There was one major difference. The Anglo Aussies had roses and lawns in the front gardens, and the vegies and fruit trees in the back garden.

However, the 60’s migrants from the Mediterranean planted fruit trees in their front gardens, a practice I thought most peculiar.

This was most fortunate, as it has now enabled me to wander my neighbourhood taking photos of fruit trees.
