A few years ago we spent some time in the Ardeche in France. On our way to Charmes-sur-Rhone we came across this field of sunflowers. Beautiful!!

I have painted this with transparent background colours and left some of that showing through. In other places there is thick paint and lovely mark making.

I paint with large brushes and bold, loose brush strokes in vibrant colours.
