These companion pieces (sunrise and sunset) were created with the idea of hanging options – together as a diptych or single artworks – you might even consider the same room, but on different walls.  It’s great to have a challenge and this idea presented the challenge of making the pieces work as one or two. The quote which relates to the two paintings also offers the idea of duality.
