Surfboards at Manly by Emma Kelly

In this painting Emma has captured the Australian surf culture with the use of strong geometric shapes and bold unusual colors.  All objects in the painting have thick black outlines to highlight shapes.  The composition of the painting is also unique with the surfboards being key to the image.  Emma’s work captures the power of color and its ability to bring emotion and joy to a space.  Emma uses strong, bold brushstrokes and contrasting colors in this painting from light pinks to strong yellows, as well as blues and reds on the pavement of the image.  These techniques create a highly original painting.

This painting is a one-off stand alone piece.  Overall the painting invites the onlooker to look at color and strong shapes in a different way with the use of contrast and textured highlights.

The painting is 40 x 40 cm and framed with a wooden border.

  • The painting is one-of-kind hand painted original
  • Titled on the back
  • Come with a statement of Authenticity
  • Come  packed with protective cardboard wrapped in bubble wrap
  • Initialed at the front of the painting in the bottom right-hand corner

Emma is a new emerging artist in Australia pursuing art as more than a hobby since 2025.   She has been selected as a finalist in numerous art competitions and exhibited in Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle and Canberra. She is the winner of the Feel Good Art Prize 2025 and was placed third in the Ryde Council’s Inclusive Art Competition.
