Surviving and Thriving by Astrid Dahl

There is a vast chasm of difference between the terms of surviving and thriving. No matter how many rocks fall in our path we have to keep going and need to thrive. This work was inspired by the north west and the northern parts of Queensland.

I have a love of rocks and love to paint them, including sides of mountains. The inspirations are many including rocks, from mountains in South Africa, the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, The Great Australian Bight and the Tibetan rocky areas especially near the Great Mount Everest. (all of which I have been to and seen)

This painting is on good quality canvas and a wooden support stretcher frame. It has mixed media with- texture gel, glue, acrylic inks, acrylic paints and oil. Then it is varnished with artist quality varnish.

The art work has fixtures attached ready to hang.
