Additional Information

This Artwork is number 5 in my Terra Firma series, where I have created artworks in response to my environment and the landscapes around me. They have all been larger scaled works on unstretched canvas.

In this particular piece I have incorporated acrylic mediums creating an interesting and highly textural artwork that is visually exciting and aesthetically pleasing. An artwork that you can really contemplate and discover new areas of interest, definitely a piece to appreciate time and time again.

Painted in quality Atelier acrylic paints and mediums on quality 12oz unstretched canvas. This artwork would be delivered to you rolled in a tube. Ready for you to have it framed to your taste or simply stretched if you like.

As I have gotten older I have been drawn to and finding hills to be inspiring, in particular the crests..especially when they wear a crown of trees, alone but grounded seemingly full of self importance and confidence. In my mind as I paint and connect with these hills I am in fact grounding myself and gaining confidence as I, “Climb a  Lonely Hill” ! (title of a Lilith Norman book I read as a child). These landscape paintings have been very grounding for me personally in these uncertain times. The initial inspiration for this series was loosely influenced by Fred Williams’ Upwey landscape of 1965.
