Thank You by Sabina Puzey – is an acrylic painting inspired by my daily walk I do with my dog. For many years I was unable to walk or leave the house, and one of the things I missed most was being able to walk my dog, get down to the river, and feel the wind in my hair and on my face. In my healing journey I have been learning to shift my focus off the goal and instead measure yourself based on the GAIN, i.e.. how far you have come from where you were last week, last month, last year.

This painting is a celebration of the gains. It is a celebration of life, of the simplicity of it, and of how the greatest things we ever need are right in front of us, and can sometimes be taken for granted until we know what it is like to live without them.

The greens and blues of this piece are simultaneously about growth and connection, but also a symbolism of peace and hope. I specifically made this piece very textured to represent all facets of life, all opportunities, and all life has to offer us, if we open our eyes to see it.

May this be a celebration for your home as it was for me to paint.
