Inspired by the sea views of the southern coastline of Victoria – the Great Ocean Road. The view out to sea is endless and every now an then you come around a bend in the road above and look down to a secret cove at the foot of a cliff.The Cove is an original abstract seascape painting inspired by travels along the southern coastline of Victoria – the Great Ocean Road. Painted in acrylic on canvas, the ground has been prepared with gesso and the texture is achieved using impasto and paper. Layers of colour and transparent washes build up the under colours of the sea and the cliffs to achieve a subtle turquoise ocean blue which reflects the pink in the sky above. The artwork is sealed in a satin varnish and can be wiped clean with a damp clean cloth. The painting is unframed, however as the sides are painted and it is complete with a hanging wire and taped to neaten the canvas edges on the back it is ready to hang. It has bumper pads on the lower corners to protect your walls.
