The Dancer by Sarah Walker – I play the piano for my daughter as she creates ballet dances that she wants to improvise. She dances and I play. We both create as we go along, me with my hands, and her with her feet and body. She dances as if she’s dancing for delight across the heavens, and neither time nor any person can stop her, in fact, in these moments of creation, time is irrelevant and ceases to intrude, and it’s just the creator, her, and I, and the music and the movement. That is the dancer. This was the prelude piece to “The Music Box and The dancer”, and set the stage for me to be able to create that larger piece, and continue recording my daughter’s beautiful expressions.
