From down below it is a stark white shape set into the hills. As the artist gazed at the scene from the car window, she imagined that there was someone else less fortunate looking up at the Getty from a ‘cardboard box’. Beauty and grunge, wealth and poverty, are binary opposites sitting side-by-side in this incredible city. The objects that symbolise the narrative are collected by the artist over a period of twenty years or more. These have been manipulated with paint to capture the essence of LA. Professionally framed.
