The “Snappy Gums” of the Australian bush — eucalypts known for their sudden shedding of limbs — become the restless heart of this vibrant painting. The composition is an exuberant cascade of forms, where trees are not passive verticals but twisting, arching presences, vaulting across the canvas with tensile energy. The sinuous trunks, marked by bold strokes of pinks, creams, and ochres, evoke both the physical materiality of eucalypt bark and the invisible forces — wind, sun, time — that shape their existence. Branches fracture and splinter, echoing the natural drama of a limb snapping loose, while the dense layering of foliage at the base surges upwards like a green tide.
