‘The House on the Cliff’ re-imagines the landscape as a living, dynamic field of transformation. Suggesting a precarious habitation perched amid elemental forces, the work blends expressive abstraction with mythic symbolism. The hazy atmosphere and surreal light evoke a mood of awe or reverence. In my vision, the land is not a passive setting, but a living, breathing entity: fertile, volatile, and deeply mysterious. This painting invites meditation. Its motion feels like the breathing of the earth itself—a deep inhalation and exhalation through colour and form. The brushwork is expressive, emphasising the gestural autonomy of paint as much as its descriptive capacity.
