The music box and the dancer by Sarah Walker – This piece is the 3rd in my ongoing series ‘Painted Music’, combining my original piano compositions with a complimentary abstract painting.
When I sat down to play, my daughter joined me and spontaneously started dancing to my music. As long as I played, she danced. It was beautiful.
I wanted to capture the joy of her movement in the painting, and create a stage for her. A stage that is beyond time, and moves and grows every time we create together. I am the music box and she is the dancer, and together we make something magical for others to enjoy
