The Plague Doctors new reality..by Karen Chappelow -79x79cm – Surrealist story venturing through dance and death original acrylic on canvas ready to hang.

The cage symbolises knowledge and information which is available to all of us and within reach, the key is available to unlock ignorance…I have included the Covid virus in her hair as at this point in time, conspiracy theories and people’s total disregard for Science, education and knowledge is almost as big a danger as the actual virus itself.  The Plague Doctor is obviously reference to the real doctors of the time when the Plague raged through cities and towns.  The doctor fully clothing himself, stuffing aromatics into the beak of his mask-to mask the smell of death and decay emanating around him.
