The Sea Of Life by David Clare – A colourful abstract painting of a thriving coral reef. Influenced by the magical underwater world of thriving coral reefs. In this painting the coral is created with a layer of random acrylic colours, once dry, I then return to my usual practice of covering the canvas in dark blue oil paint, then removing the colour using soft palette knife and brushwork. The difficulty is that I have very little idea how the coral will look after it has been covered with blue paint. Would it be bright enough? Would it be too bright? I think I got the balance right?
