“There’s a certain slant of light” by Kerry Inkster

I work from found and created photographs and I loved this image due to the beautiful way that the model was captured in the light. Her flowing dress and the reflections above take the eye on a journey from uplifted face up through the painting. The light highlighting the face and the dress contrasted against the dark watery background captures the softness of the water and this peaceful light filled space. A wonderful reflection of feminine allure and strength.

In this painting I’ve used high quality artist acrylics and mediums. As with most of my paintings I personally mount it on an “inbuilt” frame and then paint the painting as the frame and board as one unit. Feel free to discuss the framing with your preferred framer to ascertain their recommendations on the piece. I will place a wire on this piece before shipping, however I recommend hanging it directly from the two D rings that I supply on the back of the painting. The painting mount is made of wood and can be subject to environmental influences such as humidity which may create short term movement in the board/mount hence why I recommend hanging the painting directly to the wall, not from a single wire.
