Artist Statement: My studio is out in the garden and though I am a dreadful gardener – my version of gardening is to sip gin and watch the plants grow – they grow anyway and infiltrate my painting.

This work is oil and acrylic on 46 X 61 Fine Belgian Linen, signed on the front and sent with an artist cv and certificate of authenticity.

This work is sealed with conservationist varnish which means the work can be wiped free of dust with a damp cloth which will preserve its life. Conservationist quality varnish doesn’t yellow or crack with light and age . Linen provides a beautiful finish for the paint and gives the painting posterity for many hundreds of years .

The work is painted on the sides so if hung stretched without an exterior frame it will still look lovely from any angle (no ugly white sides).

I have tried to give examples of different frames in the images. If you decide to add an exterior frame I suggest choosing a frame that matches your furniture. ie if you have natural timber choose a timber frame, if you have a lot of black trim choose a black frame. But I would not normally recommend a black or white frame if you don’t have a lot of black in your home near the painting. It is never usually a painting that doesn’t match your home – it will be the frame- normally a soft neutral timber is going to look better. I have tried to give examples of different frames.
