To the West is a handcoloured linocut depicting two beautiful magpies and flowering gums against an imagined landscape of fields and a stylized skyscape at sunset.

Carved in a simplified style with gestural mark making and printed in a matt black ink. Watercolour washes contrast with the printed areas and fill the negative spaces giving a stained glass effect.

Printed in a variable edition of 8 each print is identical except for the colours used which vary from one piece to the next. This is number 3 in the edition.
