I love watching sailboats on the water, whether they are sailing or moored, dramatic or peaceful…the shape of the sails, their elegance, the movement, the gentle clinking and clanking of halyards against sailboat masts.
I used loose expressive marks, and a sgraffito technique, scratching through the surface wet paint to reveal the lower layer of contrasting colour.
