Treasured Memories by Susanne Bianchi.

The artist’s body of work is governed by her mission to reassign meaning to materials that have outlived their perceived purpose. Susanne works with reclaimed wood and other items to produce three dimensional pieces of art that may remind the viewer of personal experiences.

Her collection of small timber off-cuts and bits of flotsam collected over time saved in her boxes of life’s ‘Forgotten fragments’ are used as her ‘paint’ to create this latest piece – ‘Treasured Memories’.

She gathers items that tell a story or evoke a feeling of personal experience.  She maneuvers the shapes and texture of the various pieces with the aim to elicit a feeling or memory from the viewer. Old photos, jewelry, buttons, letters, invitations have been used.

The result is a captivating interplay of shape, colour and material—bits and pieces coming together to form ‘Treasured Memories’.

Treasured Memories comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
