Tropical Fever by Susanne Bianchi

The backyard has always been a place for us to relax and spend time in. A tropical scheme is popular and refreshing. There is usually a pool, lots of luscious greenery, palm trees; coconut trees, monstera plus a multitude of leafy plants. Most backyards attract interesting creatures; birds, lizards, the odd snake!

My ‘Tropical Fever’ is a fun snapshot of what I imagine happens in a lush green backyard.  It has been painted in a semi abstract impressionist style, suggesting everything you could find in a tropical setting.  I have used bold crisp colours found under the bright Queensland sun.  I encourage the viewer to spend time finding all that I have included in the piece, some are obvious, some are not; can you see lizards, birds, maybe a snake?  What else can you see there?

As is my normal practice, I start my pieces with multiple layers of under-colour boldly placed onto the canvas.  My aim is to create depth, texture and mystery to the artwork.  I then add brush loads of paint to suggest trees, flowers, leaves and animals.

This piece is painted on stretched canvas using acrylic paint. It is signed on the front and back and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Note that insitu examples may not be to scale.
