Unflappable Starlet by Elise Judd

This painting is inspired by the Golden Age of Hollywood particularly the silent film era.  The stories of the women of that time are so inspiring and inspirational.  This particular painting is a take on the actress Faith Bacon (1910 – 1956).  Faith’s life was definitely full of highs and lows.  Hers is a fascinating story to read about her career and life which came to a tragic end.

As my background in partly in Textiles, therefore I have made this piece as a wall hanging which means that it will come to you rolled in a tube with the poles included. (This makes the actual dimension 160cm wide, you could always decided to have it stretched onto a canvas if you prefer that look.)  I have used quite a limited palette, this is to reflect the black and white films of the time and also the old sepia photos.

This piece is made in acrylic and charcoal.  It has been sealed and varnish for its protection.
