Untamed No 2 by Marijke Lambregtse is inspired by the same concept as my last painting Wild for Now which is consumed by the thought of how much ‘wild’ there is left in this world. What does wild mean these days? Wild, living or growing in the natural environment; not domesticated or cultivated, uninhabited. Our very existence is inextricably intertwined with the natural world. … Our physical bodies are built up from the elements and according to the laws of nature. So how much of this wild thing is left in and around us?

This painting is consumed by these thoughts and has a cheeky surrealistic humorous tinge to the more serious underlaying concept and Marijke hopes the viewer will wonder and ponder with her besides giving a wonderful splash of color on the collectors wall.
