My first Amy Winehouse inspired portrait which I created over one of my multiple layered intuitive mixed media bases.

For those that possibly don’t  know, Amy was a British singer and songwriter who was an amazing talent, with a unique voice, whose work was influenced by a mix of genres, including soul, rhythm & blues and jazz.

I think my chosen eclectic background was just the right fit for her.

My minimalistic portrait was layered over my chosen base to allow her to slightly melt into the background, allowing some of the unique earlier layers to peek through, without diminishing her presence.

As Valerie requires framing to hang, my artwork gallery includes examples of how she could look framed and hung.

I paint organically therefore this piece has a rough .05cm border which can be covered during your chosen framing process or be embraced and left exposed for a more grungy look.
