This artwork is an Australian native flora inspired abstract using the contrasting textures of acrylic paint, oil stick and artist markers. ‘Verdant Embrace’ is part of my gum leaves and blossoms study, where I aim combine elements of natural beauty and a touch of whimsy and capturing not just the visual beauty, but the feeling of being immersed- surrounded by layered textures, subtle movements and patterns that highlight the organic and raw beauty of gum trees and wattles filled with trailing leaves and native blossoms. This botanical artwork features a beautiful deep green coloured background that is submersed in delicate patterns creating a sense of tactile movement that invites the viewer on a wander through this imagined landscape.
