Voodoo Child

Voodoo Child is a Street Abstract mixed media Painting.

This original artwork is made using Recycled Street Posters & it’s inspiration comes from Graffiti in City Laneways, Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces. The work is also inspired by my love of gestural abstraction and my obsession with using spray paint.

The collage surface was firstly built up with multiple layers of paper and then overlayed with Acrylic Paint, Sugar Spray Packs, Stencils & Paint Pens.

Once I have collected the paper off the walls of Sydney streets, the chunks are then soaked and separated. The revealing coloured layers then organically influence the colour palette i will be working with, placing them together like a giant jigsaw puzzle.

The Painting comes Framed and ready to hang and it is mounted under a clear acrylic sheet.

This artwork has a textured finish created by built up layers, paint splatters and torn paper, a visual effect mimicking the look you would see in the street where this effect is created over time on Graffiti Walls & Advertising Spaces. These imperfections are part of the overall look and feel of the finished work.

Cold Ghost is represented Internationally by Maze Gallery London.
