Picture a beautiful, warm spring day in a picturesque town in the Adelaide Hills. A lady orders a desert for herself but her dog and personal companion makes sure that she isn’t left out. She rests her paws on the counter and, of course, the lady knows exactly what lovely treat to order for her four legged friend. This heartwarming scene is reminiscent of the paintings of Norman Rockwell who was an accomplished narrative artist of the ideal American life of the last century.
My painting was indeed inspired by witnessing a very similar scene in Hahndorf in the Adelaide hills.
