The Bush Tomato (Wanakiji) is a small desert plant with grey to bronze leaves and mauve/blue flowers that bears a fleshy fruit full of black seeds. The fruit can be eaten raw or cooked over a fire on skewers (turlturrpa). Includes Certificate of Authenticity and Valuation Certificate.

About the artist

Debbie Napaljarri Brown was born and grew up in the remote community of Nyirripi, 400 km north-west of Alice Springs. Debbie now lives in Yuendumu and works for the Women’s Centre. She has painted through Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation, an Aboriginal owned and governed art centre located in Yuendumu, for thirteen years. Her paintings tell Dreaming stories (Jukurrpa) from her father’s country. They were passed down to her from her Grandmother.
