In ‘Water Story’, Tillian channels the ecstatic logic of landscape into a sensuous, syncretic abstraction. With rippling bands of colour and visceral contour lines, this large-scale acrylic painting evokes water not as scenery, but as sovereign protagonist—fluid, forceful, and ancient.

Central to the composition is a pale figure—ambiguous and luminous—seeming to emerge from, or dissolve into, a cascade of blue-green current. Around it, curling tree-like and arterial forms bend and entwine, recalling the anatomy of rivers, limbs, and root systems. Across this terrain, vibrant chromatic passages—turquoise, vermilion, citrine, jade—conjure sediment, algae, blood, light refracted through liquid, and the dream-memory of floods. These hues, braided with black delineation, pulse with vitality yet never solidify. The scene remains in flux, inviting interpretation as mythic, spiritual, or ecological.

‘Water Story’ is an audacious, immersive work that pulses with the vibratory energy of both fluidity and fragmentation. It occupies a space between abstraction and environmental psychodrama, offering the viewer a phantasmagorical terrain through which the elemental life-force of water is rendered as both character and narrative structure.

Drawing on traditions of biomorphic abstraction, shamanic storytelling, and animist cosmology, Tillian renders water as a mytho-ecological presence—at once healing, erotic, and volatile. This is not depiction but invocation: a vision of the world as water remembers it.
