Way of the Water 2022 by Marguerite Bonwick

This artwork is an Expressive Landscape painting inspired by a family trip to Moruya on the south coast of NSW.  A relaxing artwork that you can contemplate and discover new areas of interest, definitely a piece to appreciate time and time again.

Painted in quality Atelier acrylic paints on quality 12oz hand stretched canvas.

As I have gotten older I have been drawn to and finding hills to be inspiring, in particular the crests especially when they wear a crown of trees, alone but grounded seemingly full of self importance and confidence. In my mind as I paint and connect with these hills I am in fact grounding myself and gaining confidence as I, “Climb a  Lonely Hill” ! (title of a Lilith Norman book I read as a child). The initial inspiration for landscape series was loosely influenced by Fred Williams’ Upwey landscape of 1965.
