Wetlands Awakening by Helen Stephens

Another painting in my popular series of paintings inspired by mangrove wetlands.

Reimagined, stylised, original artwork full of the shadows and quirky, twisted shapes of those muddy mangrove trees that grow in their thousands on these tidal mud flats. There is something otherworldly about those twisted shapes and spikey roots revealed when the sea levels drop at low tide. The dappled shadows along the wooden walkways eventually are replaced by the bright, white light of day and then back to the world as we know it.
