  • Wharf cropped framed

Additional Information

This painting is of a Mooring Bollard on a Cockatoo Island wharf. Recently I visited Sydney Harbours largest Island. which was developed as a ship repair and ship building facility during the early years of the Colony of NSW. Convict labour was used to quarry stone and dig the facilities.

Being an Island for ships, Bollards are all around. These are used to fasten the mooring lines of ships.

Nice and sturdy, age has given them an appeal.
