Additional Information

‘When the spirit sings’ original artwork on recycled canvas made from 100% plastic bottles (archival and sustainable) by Marijke Lambregtse.

This work as all my other artworks has been created from a place of deep love for the Earth and rising concern for its future. Eco-anxiety and human disconnection fuel my work. When awareness and action meet, my spirit sings. I hope my art inspires reflection, responsibility, and a renewed relationship with the natural world.

This particular work also relates to my work ‘Flourish’, Sold.

We people and our environment and living organism grow or develop in a healthy or vigorous way, especially as the result of a particularly congenial environment. Now this environment is threatened and trees, forests, and land is now becoming more and more sparse. Although we know forests and trees are our life saviors for the future we still cut them down with incredible speed. Again shapes of mushrooms started to appear amongst other interesting things and I discovered that mushrooms have the ability during their life cycle to emerge from darkness and decay and are often associated with spiritual growth, enlightenment, and rebirth. This gives me hope as I always think the human race is like a mushroom on earth, we blow up our own precious environment but maybe that is necessary to help for transformation and regrowth in a more sustainable world.

There’s some eco grief about it. “Ecological grief – the mourning that takes place when we lose parts of the natural world – is likely to affect more of us in the future” (TheConversation.com).
Besides being a lovely strong colourful piece for your wall it’s also a full-of-life artwork, which I hope will make people sit down and wonder what this vibrant piece of art is all about and will become a starting point for conversation and discussions.

This artwork has been made on a loose canvas and needs to be stretched either by the collector or a local framer which minimize costs as well as packaging material
It has been varnished, signed on the back with a certificate of authenticity stamp
