In this work, a single tree stands beneath a dense, shifting sky, held in a moment of suspension before change. The landscape is pared back, allowing the weight of the atmosphere to dominate, while the tree remains understated, almost absorbed by the field around it. Rather than describing a specific place, the painting explores endurance, stillness, and the quiet tension that exists beneath gathering weather, where the land appears to pause and wait.
