This painting captures the moment when heavy weather begins to loosen its hold on the land. The clouds still carry their weight, but a faint light breaks across the ground, catching the wet earth and remembering the storm that has just passed.

Working between realism and abstraction, I use softened edges, layered glazes and shifts of colour to build atmosphere rather than depict a specific place. The landscape becomes psychological — a space shaped by memory, stillness and the quiet held after weather moves through.

The ground reflects traces of water and warmth, while the sky opens in slow tonal changes, revealing the first suggestion of calm. It is a painting about what remains: the hush that follows turmoil, the resilience of land, and the way light returns without announcing itself.
