Whitsunday’s Sail.
The Whitsundays Islands are inside of the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Queensland Australia.
Each August at Hamilton Island a week long regatta is held on the waters around this island.
Yachts travel from all around Australia for the regatta, swapping the cold winter waters down south for the tropical waters and comradery of the fleet.
Sailing in these waters during the winter months means sharing the waters with the humpbacks who have swum from Antarctica to calve and mate, before the long swim back for the southern waters and the krill.
