From certain angles this work can look like a smooth portrait but on closer inspection all the imperfections of the surface can be seen. This portrait is full of textured lumps and bump which are a metaphor to life and all the inner battle scars one carries that people from the outside cannot see. Even the most angelic faces can be fighting physical and emotional battles that are undetected from the outside.
I have purposefully painted this portrait small to represent how some people can be overlooked. This can be a conscious decision in wanting to fade away or seem invisible.
