Zen Feather by Rebecca Warr – This artwork was an experimental piece where my aim was to create a vibrant image of a feather using acrylic inks. The ink creates a marbled effect and the colour has been mixed to graduate from warm pinks and purple, to green and blue, then finally to yellow and orange. Gold ink has been added amongst the colours to create a sense of harmony and to draw the viewer’s eye vertically in the direction of the feather. The feather is contrasted with areas blocked out in black and gold and a zentangle pattern has been added in the background. This artwork juxtaposes simple forms with flowing colour against intricate pattern.
