This work is a limited edition fine art print produced from my original watercolour painting from 2018. As seen on House Rules.
Printed onto beautiful thick textured cotton rag paper using archival inks by a specialist fine art reproduction printing house. From an edition of 50 prints. Signed and numbered with a Certificate of Authenticity. These prints are luxurious, they look and feel like the original painting.
About the artwork: It’s always such a treat to see one of these shy guys on a bush walk. I love the fact that these birds are so unassuming at first glance, with their brown plumage hiding in the shadows etc. and then BOOM! that incredible mating display and the ‘stand up comedy’ routine; completely unexpected and brilliant. I had been planning on painting one of these magnificent Lyrebirds for some time, and finally got the nudge I needed after spotting one on a walk in Leura, in Sydney’s Blue Mountains. Since this painting, Lyrebirds have featured regularly in my work.
