Morning Mr Magpie – Extra large Original Gouache and watercolour painting on thick textured watercolour paper (Arches).
Also available professionally framed on request in your choice of Black, White or Raw Oak frame. Please contact help@artloversaustralia.com.au if you wish to purchase this painting framed.
Morning Mr Magpie is a large statement painting in beautiful earth tones including; forest greens, raw sienna, blue/greys and light taupe. I love to paint our unique Australian flora and fauna in gouache and watercolour on beautiful thick textured papers. I use calligraphy brushes and vary the paint consistency from watery washes to opaque line work – my intention is to create flow and movement within the work by varying the brush line weights.
This Magpie (and his colleagues) likes to hang out in my neighbours giant fig tree that overhangs my garden. My paintings feature much of the urban, everyday nature – the plants and backyard birds common in my inner city neighbourhood.
