Why commission an artwork?

You discover the artwork you fell in love with sold, or perhaps the work you liked wasn’t quite the right size for your space.

A commissioned artwork doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

For most people who buy art, the artwork is more than an investment of money. Often they are purchasing more than just an object it’s the story about the work, and a private commission allows them to talk about the artist and their relationship with that person, as well as the genesis of the artwork and how it progressed. That extra involvement adds considerable personal value to the commissioned artwork without it necessarily costing much more.

A private commission creates a “pride factor” for the buyer. They have an opportunity to be a part of the creative process in terms of indicating what they want and seeing it come to life. This forms a partnership with the artist, and you can’t put a price on that feeling.
